ABOUT EXHIBITION
curators: Gunia Nowik, Patrick Komorowski
artists: Paweł Błęcki, Wiktoria Bukowy, Maciej Stachowiak
For Puste Harvest, nature is a privileged meeting place, a raw material and a model of joint activities. Photographs of abandoned spaces - carried out just before the storm during an expedition into the mountains - become in the eyes of the viewer places of events that have not yet taken place and only remains to decipher his trailers. The vault of the cave or the tension of the rope on the bank of the river refer to the forces analogous to the approaching atmospheric phenomenon. The processes of geological stratification and organic sediments, however, fit into the times that the sensual experience does not include and remain outside the field of view. The coming storm, which will be fulfilled only in a flash of lightning, is a metaphor for a photographic act. Despite the fact that the dynamics of thunder passes through the image, this act always stops here and now, which immediately disappears, and finally the picture reveals the absence. It seems, therefore, that the photographs of Pustowy Collection question the possibility of depicting common experience and relations with nature only through photography. However, in the common activities in the exhibition space they manage to escape this paradox. By placing in it objects of nature, such as belemnite or dry branches arranged in the construction of a hut, space becomes a real field for connecting their individual energies.
